Cagliari is looking to give continuity to the season just concluded, in which the club rossoblù has managed to secure a relatively quiet salvation thanks to the work of Fabio Pisacane and Guido Angelozzi. The motto in Cagliari is clear: give space to young players. The example of Palestra is under everyone's eyes: taken almost in indifference at the end of the summer market, the 2005-born winger has been the revelation of Serie A 2025-26. Atalanta, the owner of the player's card, had seen it long at the time of the transfer: a straight loan or nothing, with Cagliari forced to accept giving up any claim in order to make him available to Pisacane. The results are well known, with the rossoblù club that with a year of experience more does not want to commit the same mistake of the summer 2025. On the market, the eyes are still mainly focused on the Italian horizon, looking for the right talents to insert into the team. There are several 'gaps' to be covered, a bit in all departments. But it's from the midfield up that the new sports director of Cagliari, Pietro Accardi, is concentrating his efforts. The input is clear: we need to replace Folorunsho and the same Palestra, two key players in Pisacane's tactical setup last season, possibly with two young and promising elements. For the role of midfielder, the names are mainly two: Thomas Berenbruch (2005) and Vasilije Adzic (2006), respectively owned by Inter and Juventus. To replace the Atalanta, instead, the idea would be to focus on a different type of player, namely Mattia Liberali (2007) who did very well in his first season in Serie B with Catanzaro, with whom he narrowly missed the sensational promotion to Serie A, ceding the pass to Monza only for the better position in the standings of the brianzoli. Berenbruch is well known to the rossoblù coach, who has been able to appreciate his qualities in the years of the Primavera championship. A left-footed base but able with both feet, the Italian-German is coming from his first season in the big leagues, after a good performance in the youth teams. In Serie C, he has put together 27 appearances with 1 goal and 1 assist: numbers decidedly less impactful than those seen in Primavera 1 (64 games, 19 goals and 14 assists), which tell of a perhaps less simple adaptation. However, the potential of the 21-year-old nerazzurro, who draws inspiration from Nicolò Barella, is enormous, so much so that Cagliari wants to acquire him definitively, guaranteeing Inter the right of re-purchase on the model of what happened with Alexsandar Stankovic, sold a year ago to Club Bruges for 10 million and ready to return to Milan for 23. A completely different story from the case of Palestra-Cagliari, in which the rossoblù club was unable to 'capitalize' on the valorization of the blue, consecrated in the top-level football thanks to the season under Pisacane's orders. Adzic, on the other hand, is a player with great physicality and genius shots. The 2006-born Montenegrin, who is born as a midfielder but can also play in a more central position (trequartista or play), is part of Juventus' roster.
